I’m Pregnant! Now What?

First, take a deep breath and remember … you are not alone. According to America's Health Rankings, 21.2% of the women in Maine who gave birth in 2023 experienced an unintended pregnancy. Not all pregnancies are planned and expected, but you still have choices that are yours to make.

If you took a home pregnancy test and aren’t sure of its validity, we offer no-cost, medical-grade pregnancy testing at our Center in Rockport, Maine, so you can have those results confirmed with confidence.

Once you are certain of your pregnancy, you’ll need to talk to your partner or another trusted person in your support system who can walk alongside you as you make an informed decision. This part of the process can often feel the most frightening– especially if you’ve been carrying the secret of an unplanned pregnancy alone to this point. If you’d like support in sharing your news, our caring advocates can help you talk through and evaluate the best way to inform the people closest to you.

If you decide to parent your child, Zoe, A Women’s Center offers prenatal and postpartum resources for moms-to-be, as well as material support like diapers, nursery supplies, and baby clothes newborn to size 5T through The Zoe Giving Tree. We also provide life coaching, pregnancy, and parenting classes for both the women and men impacted by unintended pregnancy.

We want each person who walks into our Center to feel seen, valued, supported, and loved. When they leave, it’s with hope. Whether you are meeting with an advocate for support or for evidence-based education, our desire is to meet your needs with compassion and quality care. We are excited to meet you and empower you in any way we can!

Contact us today to schedule a confidential (according to Maine state law) appointment at our Center in Rockport, Maine.
